To have this label that some call cancer
Inducts us into a hall of pain
We wish we knew the magic answer
To stop it from coming back again.
Some of us may get it multiple times
With names that are different each diagnosis.
We hope to stop it or keep it in line
Instead of fighting it over and over.
To see a love to become a victim
Instead of our self, we have no control
To try to stop pain that hits within
Our hearts and sometime our soul.
Tears come out, expressing how we feel
With hope that progression will be stopped.
A simple hug can make one feel zeal
From someone who wants it all to stop.
It hurts so bad so deep inside
But hugs that come from friends
So strongly helps the body fight
Strengthening hope this sometimes ends.
Thanks to you who have got involved
By hugging friends or loved ones close
Meds help us heal as this crap evolves
So does a hug when it's a dose.
Hug someone you want healed
If you don't you'll wonder, would
I have made somebody feel
That they can know that "LIFE IS GOOD"!
The excessive eating of good tissue in our bodies from cancer in a crapulous way hurts us all. Each of us is affected by knowing and/or loving another who has been diagnosed, thus, in a sense it is not only the individual diagnosed with it that deals with it. These poems, prose, and stories represent my experiences, as well as others I've known, and are intended to provide awareness, inspiration and hope. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO SHARE A COMMENT OR MARK ONE OF THE CHECK BOXES AT THE END OF EACH POST.

A Hand That Brought Awareness . . .
To each our lives have been given.
Sometimes, we may not understand.
We want zeal to keep us driven,
Sometimes, we need a helping hand.
With our cancer, there's lots of hands
That treat us and teach us often.
There's always one to touch a heart
That can cause hard hearts to soften.
Our soul at times seems in dispair
A special someone enters in,
Impressing us they really care
To help us enjoy life again.
Professionals they're often called,
With a shield to keep us apart
To not impact their duty call
At times they deeply touch our heart.
Conversations become sincere
Shared emotions, some deep within,
May bring us close and cause some fear
It's so, so, good to find a friend.
A fear may be misunderstood
We may put up a boundary;
To not let someone do some good
Thus, it leaves us in a quandry.
To help my soul to get some rest
I send thanks, I hope it reaches
To one who helped me try my best.
TDawn, eat alot of peaches!
My body fights this crap again
My body seems it's source for food
I hope to know there's still a friend
Who makes me feel that "Life Is Good!"
