Peace within is something hard to find,
especially when frustration has taken control.
Kaos and confusion all the time,
interferes in everything and taking such a toll.
Know, that deep within your hurting heart
where it seems to struggle searching for some way to help,
you overcome the burdening part.
It may be noticed soon when your tears begin to swell.
The hurt attacks your family strong
because of what this dreaded disease can sometimes do.
With you they also journey along.
They search for ways to ease the pain for them and for you.
Take time to talk, question, why me God?
What is this challenge that is set before us and why
do we have to deal with this we nod?
Release your tears to understand why you have to cry.
Keep seeking comfort from God up high
no matter how mad or angry we may seem to get.
Because it will come and you will sigh
when you let him take over, your worries will soon quit.
Again, enjoy life and family
and friends that pray and hope for your normalcy again.
Love and hug and make someone happy!
Let them know God makes it easier to deal with pain.
Though it may be hard to find this peace,
when you do there will be not a doubt something has changed.
Your family and you will agree.
God always gives us answers, though still they may seem strange.
Life is Good!, I hope to pass this on
to anyone who seeks something that may bring some hope.
Know this peace and keep plugging along
don't worry and enjoy life, God helps us all to cope.
Crapulous Cancer
The excessive eating of good tissue in our bodies from cancer in a crapulous way hurts us all. Each of us is affected by knowing and/or loving another who has been diagnosed, thus, in a sense it is not only the individual diagnosed with it that deals with it. These poems, prose, and stories represent my experiences, as well as others I've known, and are intended to provide awareness, inspiration and hope. PLEASE TAKE TIME TO SHARE A COMMENT OR MARK ONE OF THE CHECK BOXES AT THE END OF EACH POST.

Long Distance Cancer
Fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, husbands, wives,
Friends, roommates, acquaintences we choose to love
Deal with torment when cancer invades our lives
Sometimes we pray seeking healing from above.
Our hearts hurt so bad when this dread enters in
And your loved one targeted is far away.
Tears well up as fear takes hold from deep within
The ugly information controls your brain.
Your heart sinks and hurt becomes so deep and bad
You want to hug your loved one and help them so.
It's hard to handle, sometimes too much it's sad,
The tears and anger may take control and flow.
I don't know if I can take this on dear God
Because it's oh so much for us to handle.
Just let the hard to handle be gave to God
And you'll find it is easier to handle
The moment you first heard of your loved ones ill
May bring unwelcomed thoughts and fear in your mind
Along with wondering, is this trial Gods will?
This doesn't mean you leave your great life behind.
My heart aches when one I know gets this darn news.
I want to hug them with a prayer to heal.
I want to hold them and let God see this view
So he will send them blessings they'll know that's real.
Life is Good and we know it is sometime along
Our routes we've taken and have yet before us.
When we start to think it's not good, we think wrong
Let God handle this disease that's so unjust

Hope Continues In Spurts
Some days are hard and dismayed
While other days are inspirational.
Only because someone may say
A simple hello, that makes the day special.
When pain sets in again and you don't care
Of anything but to feel good again,
Does it occur deep inside the soul
That someone starts the light again.
The light that seems to bring a feeling
Of hope that this will soon get better,
Of hope again to get life reeling
Like a brisky day warmed with a sweater.
Pure fresh cold air to bring a brrrrr!
When breathing makes the body chill
Like conversations that may occur
With one who can help build your will.
Strange, how a simple hello
From one who appreciates their life
Can turn the day around and so
Simply removes some things of strife.
Sometimes hard to wait for healing
Knowing others wish you would.
You ask yourself, why I'm always dealing
With ways to think that "Life Is Good".
Others bring a thrill to life
Not a matter if they should,
They might not know their value
It's those that make me think "Life Is Good".
Caregivers, friends, who simply talk
Brings so much joy and hope.
Precious, special, wish I could tell
Them now, but how, I just don't know.

HUGS, A Powerful Medicine . . .
To have this label that some call cancer
Inducts us into a hall of pain
We wish we knew the magic answer
To stop it from coming back again.
Some of us may get it multiple times
With names that are different each diagnosis.
We hope to stop it or keep it in line
Instead of fighting it over and over.
To see a love to become a victim
Instead of our self, we have no control
To try to stop pain that hits within
Our hearts and sometime our soul.
Tears come out, expressing how we feel
With hope that progression will be stopped.
A simple hug can make one feel zeal
From someone who wants it all to stop.
It hurts so bad so deep inside
But hugs that come from friends
So strongly helps the body fight
Strengthening hope this sometimes ends.
Thanks to you who have got involved
By hugging friends or loved ones close
Meds help us heal as this crap evolves
So does a hug when it's a dose.
Hug someone you want healed
If you don't you'll wonder, would
I have made somebody feel
That they can know that "LIFE IS GOOD"!

A Hand That Brought Awareness . . .
To each our lives have been given.
Sometimes, we may not understand.
We want zeal to keep us driven,
Sometimes, we need a helping hand.
With our cancer, there's lots of hands
That treat us and teach us often.
There's always one to touch a heart
That can cause hard hearts to soften.
Our soul at times seems in dispair
A special someone enters in,
Impressing us they really care
To help us enjoy life again.
Professionals they're often called,
With a shield to keep us apart
To not impact their duty call
At times they deeply touch our heart.
Conversations become sincere
Shared emotions, some deep within,
May bring us close and cause some fear
It's so, so, good to find a friend.
A fear may be misunderstood
We may put up a boundary;
To not let someone do some good
Thus, it leaves us in a quandry.
To help my soul to get some rest
I send thanks, I hope it reaches
To one who helped me try my best.
TDawn, eat alot of peaches!
My body fights this crap again
My body seems it's source for food
I hope to know there's still a friend
Who makes me feel that "Life Is Good!"
Sometimes, we may not understand.

So tired of sleeplessness
So tired of aches and pains
So tired of medications
So tired of feeling this way!
So tired of feeling crappy
So tired of this disease
So tired of lack of normalcy
So tired of all of these!
So tired of wanting sleep
So tired of only naps
So tired of no hours of sleep
So tired of all this crap!
So tired of waiting to feel good
So tired of lack of patience
So tired of messed up health
So tired of so much of this!
So tired of waiting for morning
So tired of wishing for sleep
So tired of not feeling rested
So tired of not getting sleep!
So tired of waiting for sunshine
So tired of waiting for day
So tired of long slow nights
So tired of being this way!
But, you know! Life Is Good!
